Der Start von Living +2 könnte in Zusammenhang mit der Einstellung von Trouble stehen. Wie digitalspy heute meldet will Virgin Media den Kanal einstellen und durch eine weitere Version von Living ersetzen.

Virgin Media to axe Trouble channel

Virgin Media Television will close its Trouble channel and replace it with another version of Living, it has emerged.
In February, Virgin replaced Trouble's timeshift with a one-hour shift of Living2, a move that made the women's TV brand one of Virgin's strongest on the Sky and cable programme guides with four slots.
According to Brand Republic, no date for the changeover has been set. A spokesperson told the trade publication: "Living2 will be renamed later in the year and given a clearer personality and proposition. We are exploring the possibility of launching a third Living-branded channel this year, which would probably replace Trouble on the EPG. No firm decisions have been taken yet."
Trouble launched on February 3, 1997 when shows for older children were spun-off from The Children's Channel. The brand gradually evolved to aim more at teenagers and young adults, and the channel eventually moved out of the kids' section of the programme guide in 2006 when it was repositioned as a general entertainment channel for young people.
Earlier this month, Virgin put its content division up for sale.

Paramount Comedy will re-brand as Viacom’s international comedy brand Comedy Central on Monday 6th April 2009.

The decision comes after a year of careful planning and consideration and follows Paramount Comedy’s most successful year to date.

Comedy Central is aimed at men and women 16-34 and offers an incomparable line-up of some of the biggest rating comedies from the US, a strong commitment to top class stand-up and brand new UK commissions.

South Park headlines Comedy Central’s new line-up with brand new season 13. UK viewers will be able to watch new episodes of the topical award-winning animation series within two days of US TX for the first time.

Comedy Central boasts four of the top five comedies from the US including UK exclusive premieres of Emmy Award-winning Two and a Half Men (Charlie Sheen), the US newest big hitter Rules of Engagement starring (David Spade, Just Shoot Me and Patrick Warburton, Family Guy) and The Office (Steve Carell, Forty Year Old Virgin).

Stand-up will form a key part of schedule with big name British stars appearing from launch including Lee Evans, Dara O’Briain, Russell Howard and Alan Carr.

The first lady of comedy’s edgy and controversial show The Sarah Silverman Program is exclusive to Comedy Central with season 2 premiere from launch.

Former Baby Cow Head of New Comedy Sarah Farrell, Director of Content Paramount Comedy, is commissioning new shows for the channel, including a one-off epsiode of Grumpy Young Men, as well as developing a pilot with rising star Jim Jeffries.
Paramount Comedy 2 becomes Comedy Central Extra; a feast of favourites from Comedy Central including opportunities for viewers to familiarise themselves with new series and indulge stacks of well loved shows like South Park and Sex and the City.

Creative agency Karmarama are working with an in-house team headed by VP Marketing and Creative Services Chris Hancox, to produce Comedy Central’s complete look and feel which will use the iconic US logo as the core of the channel’s identity. The on-air creative uses the logo while off-air uses key talent to create mischief around well known UK landmarks.

Comedycentral.co.uk will offer exclusive video content and clips from shows, money can’t buy prizes and comedy gossip powered by Chortle.

Neue Details zu den geplanten Namensänderungen von UKTV Style und UKTV Gardens:

UKTV Style wird am 30.April in Home umbenannt. Am 19.Mai folgt dann UKTV Garden der sich zukünftig Really nennen wird

Am 22.Juni wird aus UKTV Food der Sender Good Food

UKTV Food to become Good Food

UKTV has licensed the brand of BBC Worldwide cookery magazine Good Food for the rebrand of UKTV Food.

BBC Worldwide, which owns 50% of UKTV with joint venture partner Virgin Media, will continue to operate Good Food's magazine and website on an independent basis.

"We are thrilled to mark our tenth and final channel rebrand with a completely different approach: licensing an established brand name that has both heritage and credibility associated with it," said UKTV controller Matthew Littleford. "By re-launching our new food channel as Good Food, UKTV gains valuable brand equity while also completing our ambitious 18 month strategy to create a network of truly multiplatform brands."

UKTV said that an "exhaustive research process" had found that Good Food was the most popular new name amongst "both current and potential new viewers", and was "capable of standing out" within the Lifestyle section of Sky's electronic programme guide.

"UKTV Food is hugely successful in both the linear TV world and online, so this rebrand is about building on its strengths while incorporating it into the new-look UKTV portfolio," said Jane Mote, UKTV's director of lifestyle, factual and new media. "We’re really looking forward to bringing the Good Food brand to life in a way that only TV can, while also making it appeal to a broader audience who love watching food shows for entertainment but wouldn’t necessarily describe themselves as foodies."

Good Food will take over from UKTV Food at 9am on Monday, June 22.

Neues zu Disney XD:

Disney-XD löst Jetix auch in Großbritannien ab - Unterbrecherwerbung
Disney-Spartensender mit Werbespots

Auch in Großbritannien löst der Spartensender Disney-XD ab August den Vorgänger Jetix ab. Das teilte der US-Medienkonzern am Dienstag mit. Disney-XD soll sich dabei auf eine männliche Zielgruppe zwischen 14 und 29 Jahren konzentrieren und damit ein deutlich älteres Publikum ansprechen als zuvor Jetix, hieß es.

Das Programm sollen überwiegend Spielfilme, neu produzierte und ältere Zeichentrickserien bestreiten. Neu ist auch die Finanzierung durch TV-Werbung, die in der Palette der britischen Disney-Kanäle, zu denen auch Playhouse Disney, Disney Channel und Disney Cinemagic gehören, ein Novum darstellt.

Disney-XD ist bereits seit April in Frankreich auf Sendung und wird schrittweise in anderen europäischen Märkten eingeführt. Offen blieb, ob auch die deutsche Variante, die ab Oktober über das 17 Euro teure "Sky Welt"-Basispaket des Premiere-Nachfolgers verbreitet wird, auf Unterbrecherwerbung setzt.
