Neue Sender bei Sky

Sky scheint vor der großen Neuordnung seines EPGs auch mal seine Transponder aufzuräumen. Zahlreiche leere Kennungen die teilweise bereits seit Jahren nicht mehr genutzt werden wurden abgeschaltet.

Darunter Kennungen längst eingestellter Sender wie Life, UKTV Food+1, UKTVG2+1 und weitere.
Auch auf den BBC Transpondern wurde ein wenig aufgeräumt.

Sky3 und Sky3+1 bekommen Ende Februar einen neuen Namen und verlieren, das finde ich überraschend, das "sky" im Namen. Ab 28. Februar sind es Pick TV und Pick TV +1

Eine etwas undurchsichtige Strategie von sky. Die Living Sender haben zukünftig ein Sky im Namen und eines der bisherigen Hauptprogramme von sky bekommt einen ganz anderen Namen.
Der Name Pick TV deutet ja darauf hin das Sky 3 in zukunft eine Art "Türöffner Programm" ähnlich wie bei uns früher "Premiere Start" werden soll. Es hat schon seine Gründe warum sky3 terrestrisch über die Freeview Plattform verbreitet wird. Man will ja die Zuschauer vom Sat-Empfang bzw. vom eigenen Pay-TV Paket überzeugen.
Aber ein Name wie sky-Pick oder ähnliches wäre doch besser gewesen.

Es gibt erste tests von SkyAtlantic.
Entsprechende Programm bzw. EPG tests konnten bereits beobachtet werden.

Noch was interessantes:

MTV Shows soll zum 01.Februar umbenannt werden. Der Sender soll sich ab 01.02 MTV Music nennen (hat vom Programm her aber nichts mit dem MTV Music auf 19,2 Ost zu tun.

Hintergrund dürfte folgender sein:
MTV wechselt bei Sky ab 01.02 aus dem Musikbereich des EPG in den Entertainmentbereich. Dort war bislang MTV Shows zu sehen. Vermutlich wird MTV Shows dafür in den Musikbereich wechseln.

Programm wird laut MTV Homepage ab 01.02. etwa so aussehen:

Ist ja dann ähnlich wie bei uns.
MTV nimmt sozusagen die Rolle von MTV Shows (hier MTV Entertaiment ein).
Ein neuer Musikkanal, MTV Music (hier MTV brand new) den Platz von MTV.
Sendeplätze jetzt mal nicht berücksichtigt...

Auch disney plant in UK mal wieder eine Namensänderung.
Aus Playhouse Dieney wird am 07.Mai Disney Junior.

Disney unveils UK plans
Walt Disney Company UK has announced that it will launch an all-new multiplatform brand named Disney Junior on May 7.

Aimed at children aged 2-7 and their families, it will effectively be an evolution of the Playhouse Disney channel, which has been present in the UK since September 1999 and currently airs in 109 countries around the world.

Disney Junior will broadcast daily content across TV, an integrated website, VOD, mobile and paid download platforms.

Separately, Disney Channels UK has announced that it will be inviting tenders from the UK’s leading creative independent production companies for new multiplatform content to air on Disney Channel, Playhouse Disney and Disney XD in 2011.

The company has already had success with a number of local productions and recently commissioned Sassy Films to make a football magazine format called Back of the Net for Disney XD and plans for Maverick to produce a second series of the fashion based show Get the Look for Disney Channel.

Speaking to Broadband TV News, Jonathan Boseley, VP, programming and production, Disney Channels UK & Ireland and Beth Gardiner, VP original programming and development, Disney Junior EMEA, said that Disney Junior will launch in the US on February 14 and following its debut in the UK will next become available in France. By year’s end, it will be distributed in a total of 23 countries.

With its launch, Disney will have a complete proposition for viewers.

They added that what differentiates the company from the competition is the brand name Disney and its values. Disney is above all else about content.

Bin mal gespannt, wann Playhouse Disney hierzulande umbenannt wird. Die Entscheidung kommt ja wieder eher aus den Staaten.

Wobei ich jetzt hier die Änderung nicht tragisch finde.
Zeigt ja auch die eigentliche Zielgruppe an.
Bin ja mal gespannt ob die dann das nervig große Logo auch mal abschaffen...
